A tourist died and eight people were injured when two cars collided

A 56-year-old woman was killed and eight other people were injured. of different severity when two cars traveling in the same direction collide on the national route 14, in the Entre Ríos department of Gualeguaychu.

The accident occurred between 5:30 and 6 this Friday, at kilometer 45 of the General Artigas national highway, about 10 kilometers from the city of Gualeguaychú.

According to initial investigations, a 78-year-old man residing in The TalarBuenos Aires district of Tigre, was traveling with two women aged 69 and 76 in a Fiat Idea in south-north direction.

For reasons that are being established, a Renault Clio that was traveling in the same direction and in which a family of five people of Paraguayan nationality residing in Villa BallesterBuenos Aires province, hit him hard from behind.

In this last vehicle, a 47-year-old man, his 56-year-old partner, a 25-year-old young man, another 20-year-old woman, and an 11-year-old girl were traveling.

The head of the Gualeguaychú Police, Luis Báez, explained to Radio Máxima that the Clio “was coming at a significant speed”, which could be corroborated by the force of the impact, the skid marks and by how it was left with “its entire side “. left and front part practically sunken”.

As a result of the strong impact, a woman of Paraguayan nationality, who was a passenger in the Clio, died instantly.

Meanwhile, the other eight suffered injuries and multiple trauma of varying degrees, of which four remained with minor injuries and four others were transferred to the Centenario de Gualeguaychú hospital where they were admitted with medical care.

Traffic was closed for a few hours and then reduced to collect data on the accident. Personnel from the Gualeguaychú Volunteer Firefighters, the Criminalistics Division of the Police, the Directorate of Prevention and Road Safety, and mobile phones from Operation “Safe Summer” worked at the scene.

The tragic accident occurred in the same week that a 22-year-old Argentine girl died on a route in southern Brazil and another 41-year-old tourist lost his life in Córdoba after the bus overturned at the intersection of routes 8 and 36., when he returned to Buenos Aires.
