Best Red Carpet Fashion at the Golden Globes: Margot Robbie, Gillian Anderson and More

This year’s revamped Golden Globes brought several changes to the show. But it was business as usual on the red carpet, with hundreds of celebrities seemingly relishing the chance to give us something to ogle after last year’s strikes prevented many from posing for cameras at awards shows and events.

There were party dresses. There were sequins. There was a lot of red (crimson dresses, apple heels, oxblood tuxedo) with hints of “Barbie” pink and the color purple.

Aside from perhaps Jason Sudeikis, who wore a crewneck sweater that Styles reporter Jessica Testa said sparked “flashbacks of him wearing a hoodie during Zoom awards days,” almost everyone looked stylish. The 20 people on this list, however, managed to stand out a little more than the rest.

The actress, who wore outfits inspired by the doll’s clothing throughout much of the “Barbie” press tour, continued that streak in a hot pink Armani Privé dress and a tulle boa that looked like a loofah. The look was inspired by the Superstar Barbie toy.

The actor, star of “The Bear,” wore a Calvin Klein suit with a wide lapel over a transparent shirt. As far as we know, no items from her recent near-nude underwear campaign for Calvin Klein were included.

“The Holdovers” actress evoked a modern goddess in a maroon Rodarte dress and a sequined shell bra that channeled Botticelli’s painting.

As the actress, who attended the ceremony as a presenter, walked the carpet, her chiffon Prada dress billowed behind her. The look was equal parts disturbing and captivating.

The “May December” actor opted for classic formal wear, specifically, an elegant Armani double-breasted suit in navy blue, which he complemented with a watch that had a dial of the same color.

The “Beef” star’s white Dior dress had an elegant braided shoulder and draped beautifully. But his signature glasses were what made the look sing.

A sparkling floor-length Pamela Rolland dress made the actress, star of “Barbie” and “American Fiction,” look a little like the Academy Awards statuette. Her glowing complexion enhanced the resemblance.

The actress nodded to her role in “Sex Education” in a strapless Gabriela Hearst ballgown that featured dozens of subtly embroidered vaginas.

Two statement brooches added some sparkle to the slim Louis Vuitton suit worn by the actor, star of “The Color Purple” and “Rustin.” A pearl earring dangling from one ear upped the ante.

The actress, host of the ceremony and star of “Oppenheimer” continued her streak of wearing sheer fabrics with a chiffon Valentino dress that revealed some skin beneath its floral appliqués.

It seemed as if the “Oppenheimer” star He had left the set of a different movie (“Maestro”) when he arrived on the carpet in a black turtleneck suit and a white pleated shirt.

“The Bear” actress’s strapless Prada sheath dress might have been the coolest red dress of the night. To help the look pop, a transparent ponytail and a sleek bob hairstyle.

Through the waistband of the “Past Lives” director’s Loewe skirt was a two-foot-long silver needle. The look, like her film, was low-key and had the potential to provoke tears.

A pearl necklace and belt chain elevated the “Saltburn” actor’s Louis Vuitton jacket and pants, and helped hide the fact that their prints didn’t exactly match.

The singer looked chic in a thrift store in a boxy Willy Chavarria jacket, a khaki skirt, and Mary Janes with socks a similar color to her bangs. She accessorized her outfit by tying a black ribbon from a birthday gift around her neck.

Was your purple Louis Vuitton dress as surprising as the florals for spring? Yes. (Oprah is an executive producer of “The Color Purple”). Did she look regal in the off-the-shoulder sequin dress? Also if.

The actor swapped “Wonka” purple for a shiny black Celine Homme blazer that dazzled with every camera flash. Her somewhat buttoned-up shirt was a change for someone who often opts not to wear it on the red carpet.

During a pre-show interview with Variety, the “Saltburn” actress described her look (a tea-length black Dior dress with a dramatic lace veil covering her face) as having a “strange funeral vibe.” In the interview, the actress said that she had a skiing accident this winter and she decided to wear her face covering because she was worried that her injuries would not heal before the awards.

Although the singer’s film “Eras Tour” was nominated for a Golden Globe, her Gucci dress covered in sparkling chartreuse sequins seemed to scream “Reputation” as loud as possible.

She’s everything, he’s just… an actor dressed in Gucci.
