It’s already been a long day for Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Nick Allegretti.
At 3:30 a.m. Sunday, his wife, Christina, gave birth to healthy twin girls, the NFL Network reported before the game.
Unfortunately, however, Allegretti was unable to be there as she FaceTimed from the hotel lobby in Arizona along with her parents to Christina and her parents in Chicago.

Allegretti already has one Super Bowl under his belt after the Chiefs won it in 2020, but this will certainly be one he’ll never forget. He’d be even sweeter if he picked up his second ring Sunday night at State Farm Stadium.
Allegretti isn’t the only player this week who was thinking about the possibility of his partner going into labor.

The wife of Philadelphia Eagles starting center Jason Kelce, Kylie, is also expecting any day now. However, she is present in Arizona and has her OB/GYNs ready in case she goes into labor during the game.

“They were undefeated at the time, and we just had a moment of, ‘Speaking hypothetically, the expiration date lines up nicely with a Super Bowl date. If we were to discuss that, would anyone be willing to join me?'” he told People magazine. “And, of course, they were very understanding of the situation and said, ‘Sure, hypothetically speaking,’ someone could come along with us.”
