New Jersey Devils fans were not happy about the referees disallowing a goal against the Toronto Maple Leafs and began throwing beer and other items onto the ice in frustration.
The Maple Leafs, leading 2-0 with 11:07 left in the third quarter against the Devils, a team riding a 13-game winning streak, returned to their locker room to avoid being hit by debris.
Erik Haula, who stuffed it into the back of the net against Toronto, jumped on the ice to tell the fans to stop throwing things so they could resume play.

Some fans at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, didn’t get the message.
It was the third Devils goal of the game to be disallowed, this time with Haula kicking the puck which appears to hit his stick and into the net for a short-handed goal.
The first time a goal against the Devils was disallowed by refs came on a Jonas Siegenthaler shot that saw Nathan Bastian interfering with Maple Leafs goalie Matt Murray. The referees immediately called it a no-goal.

Tomas Tatar then skated towards Murray as the net keeper cleared the puck from behind his net, but he came back quickly, crossing the red line for a goal. Once again, however, the referees called interference.
Watching it for the third time, the boos from the fans weren’t enough to show their frustration.

Once play resumed, Devils defenseman Dougie Hamilton wasted no time getting New Jersey’s first goal. real the goal of the game, hitting a deflection in front of Murray to make it a 2-1 game.
But it wasn’t enough, as Toronto finally handed New Jersey its first loss in 14 games, ending its franchise-record-tying winning streak. Pontus Holmberg and John Tavares were the scorers for the Maple Leafs.

Devils fans will leave the Prudential Center frustrated with how they fared, but hope their team can start a new winning streak when they take on the Buffalo Sabers on Friday at 8 pm ET.
