Eldense and Zaragoza signed a draw (1-1) at the Nuevo Pepico Amat in a very intense match in which, due to chances and dominance, Fernando Estévez’s team was closer to victory than its rival.
In the first half, Eldense looked into debutant Edgar Badía’s area with some danger. A cross shot from Clemente and a clear chance from Iván Chapela initially worried Zaragoza who, despite this, took the lead on the scoreboard with a good goal from Maikel after a magnificent assist from Fran Gámez.
The 0-1 score shook up the game that had slowed down shortly before the Aragonese goal. Eldense responded immediately with a header from Dumic that forced Edgar Badía to show off with a great save. In the following corner kick, Soberón sealed the tie with a header at the near post.
Real Zaragoza’s lead on the scoreboard lasted just seven minutes against a much more incisive Eldense team. With the match uncontrolled and open to any scenario, the end of the first period was reached with the score 1-1.
In the second half, the Barça team continued to make Edgar Badía and his defense suffer every time Marc Mateu appeared. Eldense was closer to the goal and, as soon as he came out, Juanto Ortuño was about to surprise due to an indecision by the visiting defense.
Marc Mateu sent the ball to the base of a post in a lateral free kick and immediately came close to scoring an Olympic goal in a corner kick that ended up hitting the post again after touching the just Edgar Badía.
The Barça insistence was not rewarded and the match ended at the Nuevo Pepico Amat with a draw, the fourth consecutive draw for both teams.
