Sven Goran Eriksson, who has been suffering from pancreatic cancer for a few weeks, will direct the Liverpool in a legends match next March.
The Swede will thus fulfill one of the dreams of his life, coaching Liverpool, as he revealed during the announcement of his cancer, when he stated that he has one year to live.
Eriksson will sit on the bench alongside Liverpool Legends such as Ian. Run, John Barnes and John Aldrigeand will have players like Jerzy Dudek, Sander Westerveld, Martin Skrtel, Fabio Aurelio, Djibril Cissé and Ryan Babel, among others that will be announced in the coming weeks.
The match will be against a team of legends of the Amsterdam Ajax next March 23rd.
It will be disputed in Anfield and all funds raised will go to the Liverpool Foundation. The two previous legends matches, against Manchester United and Glasgow Celtic, raised a total of 1.45 million pounds (1.7 million euros).
