Two trains collided near the Indonesian city of Bandung on Friday morning, the train operator said, and a local police chief said at least three people had died.
One train was a local commuter line and the other came from the city of Surabaya, officials said. Bandung Police Commissioner Kusworo Wibowo said in a televised interview that three crew members had died.
No other information was immediately available. Televised images showed destroyed train carriages.
This is a developing story.
