Jets’ Aaron Rodgers ‘having fun’ in New York after trade: ‘Pinching me a lot of days’

Aaron Rodgers hasn’t been in New York for a long time, but the four times MVP He is enjoying his new city very much.

Rodgers joined “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday and discussed his first week on NY.

“I’m having a great time. I’m having a great time. It’s been a lot of fun,” Rodgers said.

“Everything is new. It’s like the first day of school every day,” Rodgers said of joining a new team for the first time in 18 years. “There are new people to meet. I have to figure out your routine, and where the laundry loops, mail, cleats, and weight room shoes go. Everything is new and exciting and fun. I just pinch myself many days. I just I can’t believe it’s real sometimes. So, it’s been a dream to be here.”

Rodgers has been seen in public several times, attending the New York Rangers and The New York Knicks playoff games in the city.

On Tuesday night, Rodgers sat courtside with Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner when the Knicks faced the Miami Heat in the second round of the NBA Playoffs.

Rodgers’ arrival in New York instantly raised expectations for the Jets in 2023 as the organization looks to break a 12-year playoff drought.

The Jets are expected to compete with the Kansas City ChiefsBuffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins at the top of the AFC.

They will do so with a plethora of weapons for Rodgers, with wide receiver Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall coming off commendable rookie seasons.

Wilson was voted the Offensive Rookie of the Yearwhile Hall rushed for 463 yards and four touchdowns in just seven games before suffering a season-ending ACL injury.

Rodgers praised Wilson on Tuesday, comparing him to former teammate Davante Adams.

“He’s a talented guy. I threw him a pass today and I turned around and said, ‘Wow,'” Rodgers said. “His ability of him to get off his brakes. There’s another No. 17 I’ve played with for a long time that does it better than anybody, but the explosiveness on and off the brakes to the No. 17 here is pretty similar.” “

On Tuesday, the Jets reportedly added veteran wide receiver Randall Cobb, one of Rodgers’ good friends and favorite targets throughout his career.
