Netflix presents the animation program for the Annecy Film Festival 2023

Netflix presented its list of films and series that will be presented at the next Annecy International Animated Film Festival in June 2023, with Nimona and Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget leading the lineup.

He Annecy International Animated Film Festival is an annual event held in Annecy, France that celebrates animation. The festival was first established in 1960 and has since become one of the most prestigious events in the animation industry, attracting filmmakers, producers and fans from around the world.

The festival in 2023 takes place from June 11 to 17 and these are just some of the titles that Netflix will present:


Nimona

Annecy details:

  • World premiere screening at Theater Bonlieu on June 14 at 6:00 pm with a panel with creators.
  • “Making Of” session the following day on June 15 at 11:30 a.m. at Petite Salle Bonlieu.

Expected Netflix release date: Summer 2023
Synopsis: A Knight is framed for a crime he didn’t commit and the only person who can help him prove his innocence is Nimona, a shape-shifting teenager who might as well be a monster he swore to kill.

Synopsis: Leo, a jaded 74-year-old lizard, has been stuck in the same Florida classroom for decades with his terrarium companion turtle. When he learns he only has a year to live, he plans to escape to experience life abroad, but instead finds himself caught up in the troubles of his eager students, including an incredibly mean substitute teacher.

Synopsis:
The eternal conflict between Heaven and Hell reaches epic proportions when both God and the Devil are sent to Earth, in the bodies of beefy housecats.


In addition, Netflix will present agent elvis, mechanical cadets, ONI: Tale of the Thunder God, and The Sandman to the TV Movies category awards.

Finally, Jorge R. Gutiérrez (behind Netflix maya and the three and the next I chihuahua) is behind the festival lineup in 2023.
