Netflix TUDUM 2023: all the important announcements of shows and movies

Welcome to your full June 2023 TUDUM roundup. Below, we’ll walk you through all the major announcements, including highlights from One piece, Avatar the last airbender, Extraction 3, and 3 Body problem.

If you didn’t know, TUDUM is Netflix’s live stream that took place on June 17 to showcase some of their upcoming titles. Held in 2021 and 2022, this is the third annual showcase (albeit slightly earlier in the year than previous events) with a slight twist in that this event was broadcast live to a live studio audience.

just one day later Extraction 2 released on Netflix globally, a third film in the Extraction franchise has been greenlit with Chris Hemsworth back once again.

First glance Squid Game: The Challenge



Earlier this year we learned that the reality series based on the Korean mega-hit was coming out in November 2023 (we’ve since reported that it’s likely to premiere on November 15).

Today we got our first look at the reality series that’s almost distinguishable from the show it’s based on (a fact that’s already caused some controversy).

You Season 5 Teased By Penn Badgley



In a pre-recorded clip that lasts around 40 seconds, Penn Badgley talks about the upcoming final season (renewed earlier this year) of You, teasing that it will be an “epic conclusion.”

Badgley teases that there will be a lot of loose ends to tie up as Joe returns to the place where it all began, New York City.

Elite Season 7 Release Date Announced



We’ve known for a while that the Spanish teen drama series Elite would return sometime in 2023 with its official date now set for October 20, 2023.

In the short trailer, we get our first look at Anitta, who has joined the cast for this season.

Nicola Coughlan has been a fixture on TUDUM and she presented some preview images for the upcoming season showing Colin and Penelope who will be the main focus.

No release date was announced for the series, but it’s widely believed that late 2023 is when we’re expecting a return.

Emily in Paris Season 4 Teased By Lily Collins



Lily Collins promised that the dramatic finale Season 3 ended on wouldn’t end there with dramatic changes planned, plus Emily will head off on a “Roman holiday.” Does that mean we’re headed to Itlay? It sounds like that!

As you may have heard, Emily in Paris is currently one of the shows that have been delayed indefinitely as the WGA writers’ strike continues. Filming was expected to begin in the summer of 2023 despite earlier reports of back-to-back filming.

Notably, the trailer did not include any dates. We expect the new series to drop in December 2023, and the information above suggests December 29. Watch this space.

Netflix provided an updated synopsis and confirmed that the series will consist of eight episodes. The synopsis is as follows:

The new series will be released on Netflix sometime in January 2024 (January 1st if you were a punter!).

Avatar the last airbender Confirmed for 2024

the cast of Avatar the last airbender has been at the event all weekend, and today we got confirmation that the new series is coming in 2024.

In a new CGI trailer (which leaves a lot to be desired), we look at the logos of the various elements. Water. Land. Fire. Air. The trailer concludes with the Avatar logo flying with the confirmation of 2024.
