The crisis unleashed between PSG and Gabriel Moscardó is one step away from being redirected after recent days of great tension and uncertainty. The 18-year-old Corinthians midfielder, who was one of the great revelations of Brazilian football this past season, will finally sign as a player for the Parisian club in the coming days. Of course, he will only be registered for the next 2024-25 season, until then he will continue to belong to ‘Timao’.
Moscardo’s signing was about to blow up this week when the president of PSG Nasser Al-KhelaïfiHe assured that his club was considering breaking the agreement with Corinthians, because the footballer, in the medical examination prior to his incorporation, detected an injury to his left ankle (the Brazilian press has spoken of a benign tumor), which will force him to undergo surgery, and will be left in the dry dock for three months.
There was an agreement between clubs: 20 million euros for the transfer, plus two in variables, but, however, nothing had yet been signed. Corinthians took the Qatari leader’s statements as an affront and threatened that if PSG did not sign the documentation until the weekend, the operation would fly through the air and would force the footballer to return to Sao Paulo.
The Brazilian club was very serious, aware that if the Parisian club did not comply with what was agreed, in the coming weeks new ‘girlfriends’ would surely appear for a footballer whose price was rising.. In this sense, we must remember that Deco has tried without success to tie up the ‘Timao’ midfielder whom he sees with a Barça profile.
PSG’s intention was not to take any risks. For this reason, he wanted and demanded that the transfer be subject to the footballer’s medical discharge, and that this would be contractually reflected, which angered ‘Timao’ since the injury suffered by Moscardó, in principle, does not present any seriousness or complications.
After several meetings between the two clubs, the French champion has agreed to withdraw the discord clause. Moscardó will sign for five seasons. He will be a Corinthians player until June 30, and, with the start of the new season, he will permanently move to Paris to be under the orders of Luis Enriquewho already gave the go-ahead to his signing.
Once all the documentation has been signed, which could happen in the next few hours, Moscardó, at the direction of PSG, will travel to Qatar where he will undergo surgery at the Aspetar hospital in Doha for his ankle injury.
Subsequently, the footballer will return to Sao Paulo, where he will do all his recovery at the Corinthians Training Center. Once you are medically discharged, you will be available to the technician, Mano Menezesso that if you want you can align it.
