Rob Gronkowski reveals why partying habits were beneficial to his gaming career

Rob Gronkowski was known for three things during his NFL career: catching touchdowns from Tom Brady, winning Super Bowls, and having fun.

It’s been more of the latest in the last 12 months, as the former NFL tight end held his party at Gronk Beach in Las Vegas around the NFL Draft, had a retirement party at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut in September and is planning another party in Gronk Beach. of Super Bowl LVII.

Gronkowski explained Monday night on “The Tonight Show” that his partying habits helped him on the field.

“Well, I’m carrying my friends, you know, all over the bar. I’m holding them. I’m lifting them up. I’m curling them,” he explained to host Jimmy Fallon. “They’re on my back, I’m jumping up and down. I’m dancing all the time. A bit like Austin Butler. I’m spinning.”

Fallon asked Gronkowski how close he came to signing with a team this season.

“Sometimes I’d miss it, but not really. Then I’d miss it for like an hour, and then I’d go exercise, and then I’d be like, ‘No, I don’t miss it. I miss it’ I don’t even have the energy to exercise,'” and he added that it took a few phone calls and about a week to really consider returning to the grill.

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers star told Fox News Digital earlier this month that he ignored some calls and text messages.

“I know, man. I just ignore them,” he told Fox News Digital. “I laugh, you know. I send some funny things, but it’s also very humiliating. It’s great to be in that situation and think about where they still want you. Usually in the NFL, you get chewed up and kicked out right away, you get spit out and they spit and so it’s great to be in that situation.
