We are waiting to know if there is a future for The glory on Netflix for a second or complete season or if they are two parts and that’s it. The glory is a Netflix Original South Korean revenge thriller series written by Kim Eun Sook, the writer of other extremely popular k-dramas such as descendants of the sun, Elfand The: King Eternal Monarch.

Centered on Dong-eun’s incredible story of revenge against her high school bullies, The glory it has quickly become one of the most popular Korean shows on Netflix of all time.

Netflix released the first season of The Glory in two installments, the first in December 2022 and the second half in March 2023.

As of this writing, Netflix has not made a decision on the future of The glory. Given how popular the series has become, many millions of fans will be wishing it would return. But since renewals are rare in the K-drama space, it’s currently unclear if the show will return.

Although there have been some Korean media speculation about the future of show businessmost seem to conclude that it is a stand-alone series, or as we call it in the West, a limited series.

Does the story justify a second season of The Glory?

This is completely subjective to subscribers. However, there are cases for and against part 3.

With most of her thugs dead, in prison, or receiving life-changing injuries, Dong-eun had little to live for after her revenge came to an end. However, he found a new lease on life by helping Yeo-jeong in his revenge against the murderer of his father. Together, the revenge-seeking couple was able to transfer the murderer of Yeo-jeong’s father to a new prison, where they eventually worked.

For a second season (or a part 3), the story could simply focus on Yeo-jeong’s story and her revenge, with Dong-eun’s help, against her father’s murderer. We got to see even more people talk about being bullied as Dong-eun dedicates his life to taking them down. However, this could raise an ethical question of when is enough and how far can Dong-eun go before his need for revenge hurts someone innocent.

In the end, if the story continued, many fans would be happy, and if the series ends after part 2, there is enough closure for most of the characters to be happy with the fans as well.

Who could make a return in The glory, part 3?

Naturally, the only way fans will be happy is if Song Hye Kyo returns as Moon Dong-eun, since without her, the story loses all its momentum.

Since the story could focus on Yeo-jeong’s revenge, then Lee Do Hyun would have to return for part 3.

A case can be heard that we might catch up with Im Ji Yeon’s character Park Yeon-jin, who is currently in prison after her involvement in the deaths of two people. As the main antagonist of the series, there could be several different ways to write the continuation of him in the series.
