The Government of Javier Milei once again delayed the appointment of the new presidents of Télam and Public Contents (Pakapaka, Encuentro and DeporTV), whose Shareholders’ Meetings had to be held this Friday at noonbut they were suspended at the last minute, since they did not have the names of the officials to replace Bernarda Llorente and Rosaura Audi.

The same thing happened on December 29, as published. Clarionwhen the then Secretary of Communication, Belén Stettler, the last day of her administration met with both presidents of those public companies, they rejected the resignations they had presented and asked them to stay until this Friday, January 12, when the new officials were going to be appointed.

At that time, government sources point out to Clarion that in the Assemblies it had been requested to go to “an intermediate room” until January 12, so that on that day the new officials in Télam and Public Content could be appointed.

However, the new Secretary of Communication, Eduardo Serenellini, also did not arrive on time to replace this Friday the two officials who were appointed in the government of Alberto Fernández. And he requested a new postponement of the Shareholder Assemblies of Télam and Public Contents.

Clarion He consulted official government sources, but received no response. While two sources from state companies assured that the changes were delayed because “Now I need authorization from the Chief of Staff.”

The thing is that a few days after Stettler’s meeting with Llorente and Audi, the Government issued Decree 19/24, which creates the Secretary of State Companies and Companieswhich requires that there be prior authorization from this new area of Chief of Staff for the appointment of directors in state companies.

The new regulations also establish that the Secretariat of State Enterprises will have direct intervention in the expenses, investment plans and transfers of the Treasury, with the objective of reduce the deficit and advance privatization proposals in the omnibus bill that the Government sent to Congress.

Officials K Llorente and Audi

Bernarda Llorente He had resigned from the presidency of Télam on November 28, dated December 10, so as not to have to manage the news agency in the Milei government. He did it together with the vice president Antonia Portaneriafter publishing a book with the balance of his management, which is called “Télam, Memoria y Futuro – 2019/2023”.

Throughout the 150 pages of the book, “we set out to reflect the visible and invisible, conjunctural and strategic work, which implied the literal reconstruction and almost from the foundations of Télam in these four years,” he stated in the self-praise of his Llorente management in the chapter “Living memory and innovation”.

Sources from the agency said that a few days before presenting that book, Llorente, organizing a cocktail in Télam, for 250 people, where he reviewed “the achievements achieved” during his management, “with a present in constant growth and a great future,” the management of the agency announced in those days in a statement to its employees.

The main authorities of the public media of Alberto Fernández’s administration were there, in addition to other officials, such as Llorente’s husband, the then Minister of Defense, Jorge Taiana.

Last April, the then deputy Victoria Villarruel announced that, with Milei, “we will close Télam. Today this news agency turns 78 for the indoctrination of all of us.” And then, the current vice president of the Nation He described Llorente as an “unpresentable” personwho was accused of being “the daughter and wife of two Montonero terrorists of those who planted bombs, attacked regiments and attacked soldiers and civilians in the midst of democracy.”

One of the announcements that Milei made after winning the runoff was to confirm that would privatize Public TV, National Radio and Télam as one of his first government measures, to reduce public spending and end the government propaganda apparatus, said the libertarian president. This proposal appears in the omnibus bill that he sent to Congress, where the company Public Contents Society of the State (CPSE) was also included.

But the current management decided to temporarily keep the Kirchner officials Llorente and Audi. Instead, on December 8, Alberto Fernández accepted their resignation Rosario Lufrano and Osvaldo Santoro, who were in charge of Radio and Television Argentina (RTA). And they were replaced in December fines, temporarily, by the radical leader Javier Monte, who was already director of the company that manages Public TV and National Radio.

Rosaura Audi was the Undersecretary of Media and Public Communication of the government of Alberto Fernández. He was a journalist specialized in international and environmental issues, worked at the Télam and ANSA agencies, developed a Latin American portal for Grupo Octubre and was director of dissemination of the Ministry of Culture under Cristina Kirchner, among other activities.

The surprising thing is that Llorente and Audi have submitted their resignations since November 28, to take effect on December 10. But for a month the Government has refused to accept them and asks them to continue in their positions, while, for example, Llorente promotes protests against the government from his social networks, such as the one carried out by the CGT in front of the Courts and also the “cultural cacerolazo” against the DNU and the omnibus bill that Milei sent to Congress.
