The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (Aemps) has ordered that nine batches of Azithromycin Alter 500mg film-coated tablets EFG, manufactured by Laboratorios Alter. Specifically, this antibiotic is commonly used to treat infections of the respiratory tract, ears, skin, and urine.
The request is made for a quality defect that does not present a serious or vital risk to the patient. Specifically, these batches log errors in leads.
The Aemps, dependent on the Ministry of Health, requests the return of the batches to the laboratories and instructs the autonomies to follow up.
