The National Meteorological Service issued a series of heat alerts for much of Buenos Aires and seven other provinces. The temperatures, the organization warned, “can be dangerous to health“.

The high temperatures will affect almost the entire province of Buenos Aires but the most dangerous records will be in the south of Buenos Aires, in Bahía Blanca and nearby towns, where the SMN issued an orange alert.

Due to this alert and the high temperatures that have been recorded for days, Aguas Bonaerenses asked users to take extreme care of the water service, since the supply in the area is still affected by the consequences of the end of the year storm. . .

The company warned that the heat continues to “negatively impact the drinking water system that supplies Bahía Blanca, General Daniel Cerri, Ingeniero White and Punta Alta.”

“The demand for drinking water has increased at a rate greater than production, causing a reduction in network pressure in different parts of the city and preventing reserves from being recovered during nighttime hours, as is usual,” reported in a statement.

The orange alert also includes part of Mendoza, northern Neuquén, northern Río Negro and Chubut.

The rest of the province of Buenos Aires, like San Juan, Mendoza, most of La Pampa, San Luis, Río Negro and Chubut, will register high temperatures for which the SMN issued a yellow alert, referring to the fact that This is heat that can be dangerous “for risk groups, such as children, people over 65 years of age or people with chronic illnesses.”

The highest temperatures in the country in the next few hours will be recorded in the area that connects the northeast of Neuquén, northwest of Río Negro and west of La Pampa. These areas will be exposed to temperatures “very dangerous” which, according to the same SMN red alert, “can affect all people, even healthy ones.”

Good weather in the city and surroundings.

The city of Buenos Aires and the Buenos Aires suburbs will have good weather this Thursday, with clear skies, north winds rotating to the northeast and then to the east, and an estimated temperature of 22 degrees minimum and 31 maximum, reported the National Meteorological Service ( SMN).

For Friday, a day is expected with somewhat cloudy to clear skies in the afternoon and a temperature of 23 degrees minimum and 32 maximum.
