The governor assured that Iran “in-depth with the tools to evict criminals who today are occupying our Los Alerces National Park” and asked the Justice to take “a exemplary measure“for those responsible.
“We must separate the Mapuches from the Mapuche Ancestral Resistance (RAM), which They are criminals que They have a real estate business and they take lands in Neuquén, Río Negro and Chubut. We must put a definitive stop on them,” he highlighted.
Consequently, the governor joined with federal judge Guido Otrantoin charge of the case, to provide information and speed up the investigation.
“We need the eviction to take place as soon as possible”he asked.
Torres maintained that the Government of Chubut “is working very well with the native communities” and that these groups have nothing to do with the fire.
They ask for more brigades to fight the fire in Chubut
The fire in the area began on Thursday night and due to unfavorable weather conditions, it expanded until it was burning around 700 acres of Los Alerces National Park.

Given the magnitude of the fire, a Unified Command was createdin which forces from the National Park itself, the Government of the province of Chubut and the Executive Branch intervene, through the National Fire Management Service (SNMF), dependent on the Undersecretary of the Environment.
“We are in permanent contact with the Nation, articulating joint efforts to control the fire, but actions We need more brigade members. We made all the letters of the province available and private companies brought machinery,” added the provincial leader.
Volunteer firefighters from the two closest towns, Trevelin and Esquel, as well as Gendarmerie, Prefecture and Civil Defense personnel from the latter town also collaborate in the work.
Besides, two water hydrant planes and two helicopters were deployed to fly over the area and work to extinguish the fire.
The spread of the fire caused both to join together, becoming a single fire and advancing dangerously outside Los Alerces Park.
As confirmed, The focus of the fire is located in Bahía Rosalesa camping area on Lake Futalaufquen, in the central region of the National Park, which has three access points.
Located in Chubut, the Los Alerces National Park has an area of 259,822 hectares, which places it as the fifth largest in the country.
