Where is it White noise in production?
Current production status: Post-production (Last update: 05/08/2021)
When we first reported on the movie back in September 2020, all we knew was that the movie would be shooting in 2021. Of course, with the restrictions in the US in September, it wasn’t exactly clear when that would happen.
Several production schedules then listed the film to shoot sometime in the summer of 2021, with most apparently aiming for the end of June 2021 and was going to shoot under the working title of wheat germ.
On June 24, The Chronicle Telegram covering the news from Elyria and Lorain reported that rehearsals for the film had begun and that sets were being built in Wellington and Oberlin. They stated that the shoots were planned for mid-July 2021. Wellington Mayor Hans Schneider told The Chronicle:
“I think it’s great. Anytime you get to showcase your community…it’s an opportunity for us to do our best. There’s a unique feel to the downtown district. All of those buildings were built in the 1800s, (and there is) the architecture of City Hall and how it dominates the area, the beauty of the Herrick Memorial Library and the downtown storefronts.”
On June 30, WKYC Studios posted a short clip of Adam Driver arriving to begin preparation for filming. A short news segment that we have incorporated below. It’s a blurry photo of Adam Driver but a photo nonetheless!
A local news station also picked up the fact that filming had started with a 30 second segment in News 5 Cleveland with several images from the set included.
Residents have seen additional footage from the various filming locations that have been posted on Twitter:

Once finished, Greta Gerwig will move on to direct his next movie Barbie It will be distributed by Warner Brothers. Baumbach helped write the script with Gerwig.
As of August 4, filming has come to an end and it has now moved into post-production.
