A storm with intense winds hit San Luis and there is a yellow alert for twelve provinces

Concarán, which had already suffered a storm in December, once again received intense rainfall, with occasional hail and gusts of wind that blew off roofs and knocked down light poles and trees. At 9:30 p.m., almost 45 mm had fallen in the past 24 hours.

The entire population, about 8 thousand people who live 130 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital, was left without electricity or water. “The material damage is innumerable: blown-off roofs, fallen trees, fallen light poles. We were hit hard, suddenly, by a lot of wind and a lot of water,” said the mayor, Marcelo Gil, in dialogue with Tennessee.

The area was affected by a short-term warning from the National Meteorological Service, so – with the necessary precautions – there were no fatalities, explained the community leader.

“A lot of wind, a lot of storm, little hail,” summarized the impact of the storm, which left postcards that were spread on social networks: the trees shaking violently in the wind, the curtain of torrential water, poles and trees fallen on houses and crossed on the street.

The storm hit other towns in the area, bordering the province of Córdoba, such as Villa Merlo.
