Netflix has partnered with company Black Label Media to produce the thriller. Reptile Starring Benicio Del Toro. The film will have its world premiere at TIFF 2023 before heading to Netflix in the fall of 2023.

from netflix Reptile will be directed by prolific music video director grant singerwho has worked with big names like Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Lorde and more. Reptile will mark Singer’s feature film debut.

The film is written by Singer along with Benjamin Brewer, whose credits include The trust and under contempt.

Black Label Media is known for bringing us hits like the the earth and Hitman. When the film was first announced, the team commented on working with del Toro and Singer in a joint statement:

“We are delighted to collaborate with one of the most talented emerging filmmakers, Grant Singer on his original screenplay alongside the brilliant Benicio Del Toro. Grant is a fearless storyteller who has created a visceral and sophisticated psychological thriller and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to do something truly haunting and suspenseful that will resonate with audiences long after the film is finished.”

Black Label Media will produce and finance Reptile, directed by Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill and Thad Luckinbill. Seth Spector will co-produce. Benicio Del Toro will also produce.

Netflix previously partnered with Black Label Media on Sierra Burgess is a loser.

Variety revealed in December 2020 that oscar winner Benicio, the bull would star Reptile as Nichols, a hardened New England detective. Nichols is described as unflinching in his pursuit of a case where nothing is as it seems, one that begins to dismantle the illusions in his own life.

Del Toro’s most recent credits include French shipping, no sudden movement and Escape at Dannemora.

What is the production status of Reptile?

Production for Netflix Reptile it was scheduled to begin on September 13, 2021 and wrap up on November 15, 2021. It finally kicked off on September 20, according to Variety Insight (now Luminate Data) with all filming in Atlanta, Georgia.

Numerous outlets picked up on the film while it was being filmed. justjared acquired footage in late September of Justin Timberlake filming the movie. MDJ online (geo-restricted website) saw the film crew filming at the Manely Firm law offices and in and around Marietta


What is the Netflix release date? Reptile?

Netflix has not set a firm date for Reptile however, it initially confirmed a 2023 release as part of the slate filing for the year in January 2023.

Before its release on Netflix, the film will be one of the 60 movies to debut at TIFF in September 2023. There it will mark the world premiere of the film.
