One of Netflix’s most anticipated documentary releases of 2023 has already been given a release date. The documentary produced and directed by Nancy Schwartzman is now scheduled to premiere on Netflix in May 2023.

Based on Netflix’s official synopsis for the hour-and-a-half doc, here’s what to expect:

“Investigative journalist Rae de Leon travels across the country to uncover and examine a shocking pattern: young women tell police they have been sexually assaulted, but instead of finding justice, they are charged with the crime of making a report. false, they get arrested and even jailed by the system they thought would protect them.”

Amanda Pike, Rachel de Leon, Christopher Clements, Julie Goldman, and Alice Henty serve as producers on the project. Carolyn Hepburn serves as executive producer.

This was one of several movies and documentaries to premiere on Netflix or premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Also on the documentary side is the one produced by A24 The deepest breath which has yet to receive a release date on Netflix.

Reviews of the documentary were mostly positive, and it currently carries a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of publication.
