After two years of leaving Netflix globally, it has been announced that Gossip Girl will return to Netflix again in July 2023.

The series in question is the original series from 2006 that ran for six seasons in 121 episodes. Featuring the talents of Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, and Ed Westwick, the show followed students at an exclusive New York City boarding school.

Netflix was the global streaming home until January 1, 2021, when it was withdrawn from the service. Now, two and a half years later, the show seems to be making a comeback.

The show’s return comes at a time when Warner Bros. Discovery has re-licensed its many shows to combat a slowdown in its streaming service and deal with its mounting debt.

In recent months, we have seen many distributors withdraw their catalogs from Netflix and reopen the licensing spigots.
