The National League nightmare is finally over.

The National League snapped a nine-game losing streak in the Midsummer Classic with a 3-2 win over the American League All-Stars.

The National League narrowly missed a chance in the top of the seventh inning, but didn’t let one go to waste in the eighth: Colorado Rockies catcher Elías Díaz hit an impressive two-run home run off Félix Bautista, of the Baltimore Orioles, to give to the National. League a 3-2 lead.

Philadelphia Phillies closer Craig Kimbrel was called out by his own manager in Rob Thomson in the bottom of the ninth, but it got tough. It’s only the National League’s seventh win in the Midsummer Classic since 1988: They were 6-27-1 in the previous 34 All-Star Games before Tuesday. The last win was in 2012 (there was no game in 2020).

The 2024 All-Star Game will take place at Globe Life Field, the home of the Rangers.
