Two boats with 30 and 33 migrants arrive at the coasts of Lanzarote and El Hierro

Two boats with 30 and 33 migrants on board, respectively, managed to reach the coasts of the islands of Lanzarote and El Hierro this Sunday afternoon.

In the case of Lanzarote, a boat has arrived at the Cantería de Órzola beach, in the municipality of Haría, and among its occupants, two women were found, as reported by the Emergency Consortium of that island. Upon arrival at the beach, members of the Civil Guard took charge of the migrants.

In the port of La Estaca, on the island of El Hierro, another canoe has arrived under its own power, with 33 migrants on board, all in good health, sources from the island’s emergency services have reported.

On the last day of 2023, four vessels have reached the coasts of the Canary Islands. Early in the day, two other expeditions made up of 99 and 79 people, including 13 minors, were assisted and accompanied by Maritime Rescue to the ports of La Restinga (El Hierro) and Arguineguín (Gran Canaria), respectively.
