“I ask you to surrender”

One week before Christmas, Mariana Domínguez’s family has no consolation. The 28-year-old young woman, a visual artist, was hit by a stray bullet while she was sharing Christmas Eve dinner with her family in Godoy Cruz. Due to the serious injuries she suffered, she died hours later in the hospital.

Now, on New Year’s Eve, his mother María Inés Quispe wrote a heartbreaking letter on her Facebook profile in which she spoke directly to the person who spoke, who has not yet been identified.

“I, Mariana’s mother, am addressing the person who pressed that trigger, I want to speak to him. I want you to know that your unconsciousness did not take the life of just any person, it took the life of an angel who walked on earth, to my little daughter, a wonderful daughter, a loving sister, a special niece, a beautiful girlfriend, an incredible friend, an unparalleled artist,” he began the writing that he accompanied with a photo with his daughter.

“If you have any empathy left and you have any remorse, I ask you to surrender. You have the possibility of give me some comfort to me, to a father, a brother, an aunt, an uncle, a boyfriend and many friends who today are devastated by your recklessness,” he continued.

And he added: “If you do not do it of your will, Karma will haunt you for life.When you wake up you are going to see Mariana, when you go to bed you are going to see Mariana, every time you see a kind smile you are going to see Mariana, every time you think about your children/siblings/friends you are going to see and remember Mariana, you are going to remember that you extinguished my little girl’s life with a whole life ahead of her, full of projects, dreams and light, you are going to feel that you destroyed entire families and groups of friends who every year at Christmas instead of celebrating they are going to remember that they took away their Marianita, their daughter, their sister, their fiancee, their sister-in-law, their daughter-in-law, their friend.”

In addition, the mother of the murdered young woman asked witnesses and anyone who could provide information about the perpetrator of the shooting to collaborate, to come forward and share it with Justice.

Mariana died on Monday after being hit in the head by a stray bullet that was fired as a pyrotechnic during the Christmas Eve celebrations in the Mendoza town of Godoy Cruz.

The young woman had dinner on Sunday night with her family in a house located at 800 Picheuta, in the Villa Hipódromo neighborhood. According to witnesses, around 2 a.m. on Monday she got up from the table to look for something to drink, but a moment later she fainted and her nose and ear began to bleed.

The family at first thought that she had hit her head and they took her to the ward of the Carmen hospital. There they told him that had been shotTherefore, she was referred to a more complex medical center.

Doctors at the Central Hospital admitted the victim to intensive care to treat him for a “gunshot wound with a dead-end entrance hole in the left occipital posterior part.” The shot had remained inside her skull, causing her brain death.

Finally, this Monday afternoon, the 25th, he died. The case is investigated by the Homicide Prosecutor’s Office, headed by Gustavo Pirrello.
